The Challenge
The cost of house extensions can vary widely depending on the spec and finish you like- however current estimations for a 20m square single-storey house extension in the UK range from £40-56k according to Checkatrade.com. A studio with the same amount of space starts at around £25k. With most of the build taking place in our workshop, the installation time of our studios is typically 2 days and usually requires no planning permission. Way simpler than a house extension!
Garden rooms are extremely versatile, and one of the most popular uses is simply an additional relaxing space where perhaps you can catch up with friends, read a book or just enjoy looking out at your garden and watching the world go by. Situated in your back garden away from the hustle and bustle of your home, a Sanctum Garden Studio provides a natural retreat- or Sanctum (!) on your property.
A Dual Space
Sanctum Garden Studios have various options for Garden Rooms depending on your own style and the space you have available.
One of our favourites is this dual space in our Contemporary Overhang style. This customer wanted to combine a garden room space with a bar area for entertaining. At 4.8m x 3.5m there is lots of space to play with and the result is amazing.
The full height corner window configuration really makes this studio stand out and allows bags of natural light into the studio to create a bright, welcoming place to relax.
There is a bar area with stool seating, a plush sofa to unwind on along with a wall-mounted TV and a media unit. The perfect space to chill!
All of our studios are built with fantastic insulating values- on par with the insulation of new build houses! Due to this our garden rooms can be fully utilised the whole year round and are relatively low in cost to heat.
We offer a range of options for heating in our Contemporary and Urban studios- from slimline wall-mounted radiators to air source heat pumps (providing both heating and air conditioning) and underfloor heating (it’s a revelation!!!).
