Our studios have fully insulated walls, roof and floors
We use a ‘sandwich’ panel construction, applying various component layers during manufacture in our workshop. This results in a wall panel comprising no less than five different materials incorporating structural elements, insulation materials and cladding.
We use aluminium foil faced PIR rigid insulation boards in the walls, floor and roof. This is widely used throughout the construction industry to help meet strict building regulations regarding energy conservation. This type of insulation also protects against heat gain in the summer months, ensuring a comfortable temperature can be enjoyed year round.
- Sanctum’s engineer-designed foundation consisting of adjustable steel base frame and concrete mini pads
- Maintenance-free Western Red Cedar cladding at the front and both sides with dark grey weatherboard at the rear
- Fully installed internal electrics- wired to an external junction box, for your electrician to make the connection to the house mains
- EPDM rubber roof with grey trim (or aluminium if you prefer) and shingle finish
- Full installation by the Sanctum team anywhere in the UK
- Laminate flooring and white skirting boards in a choice of colours
- Fully insulated floor, walls, and roof
- Gutter and downspout at rear
Rapid installation
We use a modular building system meaning the vast majority of construction is carried out in our workshop. This enables us to minimise time on site, and therefore disruption to you.
High Security Doors
UPVC double glazed door with fixed window to the side. Toughened low ‘E’ Glass with ‘secured by design’ insurance-approved multi-point lock. All doors and windows are ‘A’ rated.
Tried and tested timber frame technology
We share timber frame building techniques used by house builders worldwide. This tried and tested technology is proven to stand the test of time and allows the majority of construction to be carried out in a controlled environment off-site.

Installation Video
As most of the studio build is carried out in our workshop our team are able to install your studio very swiftly, from foundations to completion in a couple of days depending on the size of your studio.
Here’s a video with our installation team installing one of our lovely customer’s Contemporary Cubed Studios!
What will you use your studio for?
All your questions answered
- Do you include electrics?
- Do I need to lay foundations for a Sanctum Garden Studio?
- Can I have a partition wall?
- Can I install a WC in a garden room?
- What is the insulation?
- Can I see what my studio will look like?
- Do I need to treat the Western Red Cedar?
- How long will it take to build my garden room?
Yes, we pre-wire all of our studios with lighting and double sockets. All the wires, switches, and sockets are sunk into the walls just like in your house.
No ugly surface mount boxes of trunking in sight! Everything is wired to an external junction box which just needs connecting to your mains by your electrician.
No- we use our own engineer designed adjustable steel base frame and foundation system so there is no need for you to lay concrete for us to install a studio on – just bare earth.
If you do have a concrete base then we can just adjust this system to work with your existing base.
Yes, this is an extra we can for our Contemporary and Urban Studios. We can add an external or internal door.
We don’t add bathrooms or kitchens to our garden studios. However we can work in conjunction with your plumber to install any required pipes.
We use aluminium faced PIR rigid insulation boards in the floor, roof and walls (widely used throughout the construction industry to meet strict building regulations regarding energy conservation).
The wall panel thickness in the contemporary ranges is more than 135mm which comprises of no less than six different materials incorporating breathable and waterproof elements and insulation materials. It is vastly superior to multi-foil or fibre-based insulations.
This type of insulation also protects against heat gain in the summer months ensuring a comfortable temperature can be enjoyed year round.
Yes, we can create a sketch for you to help you visualise!
If your studio is clad in Western Red Cedar no painting or staining is required. Over time the colour will fade out to a silvery grey.
You can however treat the cedar if you want it to retain its warm colouring. We recommend applying an oil such as Owatrol Seasonite in the first year. After this you can use Owatrol Textrol.
Our Hampton Studios take 1 day, Our QuadPods 1 ½ days and our Contemporary/Urban Studios 2 days (for larger studios these may add an extra day).
This fast build time is what sets us apart from other companies, many take a week or two to install! We can only achieve this by using MMC’s (Modern Methods of Construction), which means that the majority of the work is carried out in the controlled environment of our workshop.
